This Rochester Dairy Set features a utilitarian silhouette and a smooth texture, offering a rustic aesthetic for curated kitchen/dining displays.

The pair consists of two clear glass quart bottles featuring vibrant pyroglaze (applied color lettering) labels in classic orange and deep maroon, representing the iconic Rochester Dairy cooperative. One bottle, manufactured by Duroglass, showcases the characteristic mid-century "stubby" profile designed for efficient storage and durability during the daily milk run. The set is housed in a matching black wire carrier with a turned wood handle, a functional design that harkens back to the era of doorstep delivery.

These bottles serve as a nostalgic link to the agricultural history of the Midwest, specifically the dairy industry that thrived throughout the mid-20th century. While one bottle shows a small, honest chip on the rim—a testament to its years of active service—the pair remains a striking decorative ensemble. Without their original caps, they are perfectly repurposed as vases for fresh wildflowers or as unique decanters for a farmhouse-style breakfast table. The wire crate adds a touch of industrial charm, making it easy to move the set from a sunny windowsill to a rustic sideboard. This collection is a quintessential piece of Americana, ideal for those who appreciate the intersection of utility and history.

Details: They measure about 8.5" in height by 3.25" wide. They come with the handled crate pictured. One bottle was made by Duraglas and is in good condition with a small chip on the rim and the other is not marked and is in excellent condition. No caps for either.
This item is vintage, approximately 70 years old. All measurements are close but approximate. I measure in quarter inches.
