1960s Rumford Baking Powder Tin. measures about 7.25" in height by 5.5" wide. Good condition. A little rusty and dirty on the top and there is a slight dent on the side that the camera couldn't pick up. I did not open it.
This substantial five-pound Rumford Baking Powder tin is a quintessential piece of mid-century kitchen Americana. Dating to the 1960s, the canister features the bold, high-contrast red, black, and white graphics that made the Rumford brand a staple in pantries across the country. The center of the label prominently displays the classic silhouette of Count Rumford, the brand's namesake, set within a white laurel wreath. This large-scale tin was designed for high-volume home baking or small commercial kitchens, and its impressive size makes it a standout decorative object for a modern interior.
The tin remains in good vintage condition, exhibiting a light, authentic patina that collectors of industrial advertising appreciate. There is some minor surface oxidation and light soiling on the metal lid, along with a subtle, shallow dent on the side that does not detract from the striking visual impact of the lithograph. It remains sealed and unopened, preserving its original historical state. This piece is an ideal addition to a Country and Farmhouse kitchen or a Rustic and Primitive display. It serves as a fantastic riser for other smaller collectibles or as a bold focal point on a baker's rack to add height and color to a collection of vintage pantry staples.
This item is vintage, approximately 60 years old. All measurements are close but approximate. I measure in quarter inches.
