Antique German Valentine's Day Card. Measures 7" by 5". Says "Unless you'll be my Valentine there's nothing else for me to do". Very good condition. Shows a little age but not used. No envelope.

This striking example of early 20th-century dark humor captures the dramatic flair often found in pre-war European ephemera. Printed in Germany, the card features a vibrant lithographic illustration of a melancholy suitor prepared to take a permanent plunge into the sea if his affections are not returned. The silhouette of the figure, dressed in traditional Edwardian-era trousers and a boater hat, stands out against a rich cerulean coastline. The paper exhibits a soft, aged patina that enhances the saturated reds and blues of the illustration. While the subject matter is surprisingly macabre by modern standards, it serves as a fascinating cultural artifact of the 1910s era of novelty greetings. This piece is ideal for a gallery wall featuring eccentric medical or dark-themed curiosities. It displays beautifully when floated in a simple black frame to highlight the original red ink border and the crisp typography of the desperate plea at the bottom.

This item is antique, over 100 years old. All measurements are close but approximate. I measure in quarter inches.
