JCCI Vintage Mouse and Boot Planter

Vintage Ceramic Boot Planter with Mice. Measures about 4" in height by 4" long and 2.5" wide. The opening is 3.5". Good condition. I'm not sure if it's stained or just that color.

This delightful ceramic planter is a certified vintage Japanese export, bearing the JCCI (Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry) mark on the base. This hallmark was a sign of high-quality inspection for ceramics leaving Japan during the mid-twentieth century. The piece features a rugged, well-worn work boot reimagined as a cozy home for two inquisitive white mice. Every detail is carefully rendered, from the molded laces and eyelets to the realistic leather-like creases in the ceramic. A warm, honey-toned glaze is finished with a darker antiqued wash, which settles into the recessed stitching to give the boot a rich, weathered character.
