Vintage Set of 4 Ceramic Plates Made in Japan. Measures 7.25". Raised design. Good condition. Some wear on backs and one back has a small chip.

Own a significant piece of pre-war Japanese craftsmanship with this set of four antique Dragonware plates, manufactured by the renowned Takito Company. Identified by the authentic red wreath and "T" mark on the reverse, these plates date to the 1920s or 1930s, a period recognized for superior artistry in the moriage (raised slip) style. Each 7.25-inch plate features a hand-painted white dragon with gold-gilt scales that physically rises from the ceramic surface, swirling through a dramatic, atmospheric background of charcoal and gray clouds.

The central iridescent lusterware finish provides a beautiful pearlescent contrast to the matte texture of the hand-applied moriage. These plates are not only functional serving pieces but are highly regarded as historical artifacts of the Taisho and early Showa eras. Because they are verified Takito pieces, they carry a provenance that makes them a centerpiece for any serious collection of Asian porcelain or an elegant addition to a Chinoiserie-style gallery wall.

These items are vintage, approximately 90 years old. While they appear to be in the good condition stated, there is some wear on the backs and one plate has a small chip on the reverse side. There is the possibility I may have missed a minor detail. In the unlikely event I missed a major flaw, I would reach out prior to sending it.
