Vintage Artmark Madonna and Child Planter. Made in Japan. Measures 9" in height. Good condition has a crack near the baby's head and did not come completely clean inside.
Add a serene touch of classic mid-century spiritual decor to your home with this vintage Artmark Madonna and Child planter. Standing 9 inches in height, this delicate ceramic piece features the Virgin Mary in a flowing pale blue and white gown, tenderly cradling the infant Jesus. The design is accented with a soft yellow sunburst pattern at the base and subtle gold-painted trim along the robes, a hallmark of Artmark Japan religious porcelain from the 1950s and 60s.
The integrated planter on the reverse side makes this a versatile piece, perfect for holding small air plants, dried flowers, or even used as a decorative trinket holder for an altar. Known for their expressive hand-painted faces, Artmark collectibles are highly regarded for their ability to blend functional housewares with graceful religious artistry. Whether displayed on a mantel or as part of a curated collection of made in Japan ceramics, this piece serves as a beautiful symbol of peace and motherhood.
This item is vintage, over 60 years old. While it appears to be in the good condition stated, there is a crack near the baby's head and the interior of the planter did not come completely clean from previous use. There is the possibility I may have missed a minor detail. In the unlikely event I missed a major flaw I would reach out prior to sending it.
