Vintage Egyptian Papyrus Painting: King Tut and Ankhesenamun. Measures about 23.5" by 20". Artwork in very good condition. It appears that the frame was painted gold with the piece in it as there is a spot of gold on the glass. Some of the mat is bent inwards.

This is a striking vintage painting on genuine papyrus, a traditional writing material made from the papyrus plant in Egypt.

The artwork is a reproduction of a famous, intimate scene from ancient Egypt, showing the Pharaoh Tutankhamun (King Tut) seated on his throne. His wife, Queen Ankhesenamun, is standing and anointing his shoulder with perfume from a small jar. The scene is complete with hieroglyphs and a winged falcon, a symbol of the god Horus, watching over them.

The painting is on a single sheet of papyrus with its characteristic fibrous texture and natural deckled edges. It is framed under glass with a dark brown mat that makes the artwork stand out. The entire piece measures approximately 23.5 inches by 20 inches in its ornate, gold-painted wood frame.

Regarding condition: The papyrus artwork itself appears to be in very good condition. As noted, the frame seems to have been repainted, as there is a spot of gold paint on the glass. Some of the mat is bent inwards.

This is a classic piece of world art, perfect for anyone interested in Egyptology or ancient history. It would make a wonderful statement piece in a study, library, home office, or as part of an eclectic gallery wall.

This item is vintage, over 20 years old. While it appears to be in very good condition, there may be minor imperfections that I missed.
