Vintage Hull Pottery Waterlily 6 1/2" Corncopia Vase. Pink and Turquoise. Made between 1948-1949. Very good condition with one spot of missing glaze, noted in photo. It's pretty clean but another cleaning would be good.

This exquisite cornucopia vase is a premier example of American art pottery from Hull's iconic "Waterlily" line, produced specifically between 1948 and 1949. Standing six and a half inches tall, the piece (model L-7) showcases the celebrated matte pastel glaze for which Hull is famous, featuring a soft rose-pink that transitions gracefully into a deep turquoise-teal at the base. The side is adorned with a stunning, high-relief sculpted waterlily in bloom, accented with vibrant green pads and a sunny yellow center, capturing the romantic, organic aesthetic of the late 1940s.

With its sculptural silhouette and historic lineage, this vase serves as a significant "scholarly curiosity" for a mid-century interior or a dedicated pottery collection. It evokes the post-war era's fascination with botanical forms and serves as a striking focal point for a vanity or a curated bookshelf. The vase is in very good vintage condition, retaining its velvety matte finish and structural integrity. There is one small, authentic "found-history" spot where the glaze is missing, as shown in the photography, which is common for matte pottery of this age. While it has been well-maintained, a light cleaning would further enhance its soft, dreamy colors. It is a soulful find for serious Hull collectors or those looking to add a piece of authentic 1940s Americana to their home.

This item is vintage, over 75 years old.
