Icet Venezuela Murano Glass Green Praying Figurine. Measures 7 1/4" in height. Very good condition, has a couple dents in glass but they don't feel like chips.
This elegant praying figurine was produced by ICET (Industria Cristalleria Educativa Tecnica) in Caracas, Venezuela, a company founded in 1957 by Italian immigrant Bruno Ava. Ava brought the time-honored traditions of Murano, Italy, to the Western Hemisphere, making Icet one of the few studios producing authentic hand-blown art glass of this style in South America during the mid-20th century.
Standing 7 1/4 inches tall, this figurine features a beautiful emerald green core encased in a heavy, clear glass exterior—a technique often referred to as Sommerso (submerged) glass. The figure’s elongated, fluid form captures a sense of peaceful devotion through a minimalist, modern lens. Pieces from the Icet studio are highly collectible for their substantial weight and the high clarity of the glass, which mimics the "Cristallo" standards of Venetian masters. This spiritual figurine serves as a thoughtful gift for a collector of religious art or as a calming accent in a mid-century modern space.
This item is vintage, approximately 50 to 60 years old. While the item appears to be in very good condition, there is the possibility I may have missed a minor detail. In the unlikely event I missed a major flaw, I would reach out prior to sending it.
